Trump to announce Trump RX website with lower priced Pfizer drugs

Trump is going to announce this morning that he has reached some kind of deal with Pfizer to sell many of their pharmaceuticals at discount prices. The website will be called "Trump RX".

I take Eliquis which is very expensive but I'm not going to buy it from "Trump RX" if any of the payment is going into his pockets.

Tim Walz and Beto O'Rourke Town Hall in Texas

I didn't see this posted but Tim Walz and Beto O'Rourke just finished a town hall near Houston, Texas. Wow, it went over 2 hours! Lots of questions were answered by both of them. It was a pretty engaged audience. Note: it was held in a building at a fairgrounds so the sound quality isn't the best but its still worth a watch.

"A golden age" starts today he says. He is going on about radical government officials , everything is bad, illegals from mental institutions and prisons--his typical crap. Everything is bad--America in decline...schools are teaching children to hate America. The usual crap. He says now America's decline is over...mentioned loyalty in government--how much he has been challenged...
Says he was saved by God to make American Great again....

Its really hard to watch this speech--I can't believe this will be included in history books...

Report on Twitter is circulating that Gov Beshear has received increased security detail

Its just one report (not confirmed anywhere so may be rumor) but that usually happens when someone becomes VP pick. I could see him being the choice due to being from a red state and being successful there. All the VP candidates are strong... (I am Walz supporter).

You've got to be kidding--Trump is going to give a "unity" speech according to CNN

No mentions of Biden by name. Plus he is going to say he wants to be president of all the people not half. He's going to talk about unity--that is a joke with what they have been spewing out during the convention.

Also, CNN says the emotional highlight of the speech will be when he brings the helmet and jacket of the fireman who was killed on stage.

Please help me understand polling and how it works

I've been through a lot of elections but I'm totally clueless on how polling works and what it actually means. Please explain current polling. Biden and Trump are essentially tied nationally yet those wanting to replace Biden are showing individual state polls where he is behind. How can both of these be true? Wouldn't the national polls be lower if the state polls are lower? How do these relate?

Also-that poll showing that the majority of voters want Biden replaced. Did they ask those same voters if they were going to vote for him anyway? Because it would seem to me that would be significant information to know. It seems like all that poll is saying is that voters wish it were someone different. But it doesn't say they aren't going to vote for Biden if he is the nominee.

Also, what about groups that may vote Democratic in this election but usually do not. Such as the "Never Trumper" Republicans, mainstream Republicans, and other anti-Trump groups. Are these voters reflected in the polls? Everyone talks about the Independent vote but these groups are also in the mix (and potentially could have an impact).

Lastly, we are four months from the election and serious widespread campaigning hasn't even started yet. There are still issues coming for Trump (sentencing) and potentially actions with the documents case. Project 2025 is just getting known. So considering that polls are a snapshot in time how actually predictive are they (right now) for November?
