Ohhh, dear! 😄 Well, I can see both sides of that.

Never tried the robot, or machine stuff by the time they came out. Glad he's getting his daughter into it.

I was a later aged kid (girl) [about 6 - 8 yrs onward] who started to partly gravitate towards "boy" things; building, science and spirts, as well loving fashion & jewelry (more "girly" things). This was all more designated stuff in the early 1960s. Luckily living in NYC made it easier to do those kind of things vs like a red state, red city, or town.

Maaaybe my dad wanted a son (just me and my sis), do maybe he was happy I loved some of that stuff. My mom had really serious drafting skills used during WW2 so she had a less typical woman's life of rbst time in some ways. So I don't think she minded either.
