(3,504 posts)the women's vote for trump, I have come away seeing a large resentment against strong women competing in a male dominated world, by the sentiment that women's subservience to a guide and provider, holds sway.
That cadre is much larger than I could have imagined growing up with a strong mother and two powerful sisters.
I have falsely assumed women strive for independence and self sufficiency set by the examples in my household.
I was mislead by the strong black women I taught in high school. I thought their resilience in spite of the obstacles in their way, would resonate more broadly in women across the nation.
I was wrong. The percentage of women voting, especially white women, for trump, floored me.
People are afraid here. Even men, of losing opportunity.
Trump plays that like a drum.
Even the oligarchs are marching in lockstep knowing full well the consequences of their actions.
We are in an unpredictable transition.
We must find unity and sadly, a woman, while best for the country, twice, will not get another chance for some time.
