But there’s only a handful that he has convinced Habba and Halligan to risk their law licenses by actually indicting them.

Indicting Smith or Garland for any kind of made up charge would risk the entire body of evidence against Trump in his dismissed charges being made public through the Discovery process- the evidence would be used as a defense against any of the charges.

Smith and Garland appear to be squeaky clean ethically and legally, so I don’t expect either of them to be indicted.

Audited by the IRS, perhaps, but not indicted.

Same goes for Lisa Monaco, Biden’s deputy AG.
