It's a bit better now, because really, what choice do they have? But the damage has been done. IMO the media created the buy-in and "permission" for Israel to go full scorched-earth and we see the result, it's very tragic.
You need to go to independent and alternative media to get the view from the other side. Sadly, not many people do.
I had read about the "new criteria" for aid agencies a few months ago. It's clear to me it's just another tactic Israel has created to slow-down and obstruct aid - adding to the dozens it already employs. None of those obstruction tactics have magically disappeared with the "peace plan" - which of course didn't address the issue in the first place, leaving lots of wiggle room for Israel to keep starving Palestinians.
The destruction of UNRWA - based on smears and allegations for which evidence was not provided - was one of my biggest concerns throughout this "war". It heralded the destruction of Gaza and Palestinians more than anything else, and of course it led to the ongoing malnutrition and starvation.
Think about it: UNRWA has 3 MONTHS worth of food stockpiled - enough to feed the whole population - but Israel will not let them bring it in. Not just food but tents (winter's coming), medicine, fuel for cooking, hygiene products for basic human dignity etc.
What Israel and Trump want to do is delegitimize traditional, established aid agencies, especially the UN's UNRWA but now others as well, like the much-respected Norwegian Refugee Council - anyone who has ever expressed any sympathy for Palestinians or called Israel to account - and replace them with their toadies and "Christian" (fundie, pro-Israel) aid groups with little or no experience. Thus ensuring the continued suffering and starvation.
It's a travesty of all humanitarian laws and its disgusting. No other "civilized" nation would be allowed to do this. Further, no civilized nation or "democracy" WOULD do this.
