16. Trane's are no joke.

Last year, my wife and I moved out of our first house, which we bought in 2004. The house had a 2-year-old Trane at the time we purchased it. A full 22 years after it was installed, the thing was still running just fine. We had some work done on it halfway through our time in that house. The tech said the compressor was not in good shape and could go at any time, or last another five years. That was in 2014. When we sold the house, we questioned whether the new owners would have to replace it. IN August, we happened to be in our old neighborhood visiting friends. The new owners left the gate open and we could see into the side yard and sure enough, the Trane was still going. When we have to replace the units in our current home I'll be looking at a Trane.
