(8,249 posts)are required to have the permits posted on the job site. This can usually be found outside of where the mobile trailers are that serve as the on site offices. These are posted along with OSHA notices, emergency evacuation routes, emergency contact info, Department of Labor Fair Labor notices etc. They are supposed to be posted outside so that all workers, inspectors, delivery personnel etc. can all see them. If they only have them inside the trailer then workers etc. could not readily see them.
I've delivered on hundreds of major job sites across the country over the many decades and professional, upstanding general contractors always have this kind of display. I've also come across less than professional, upstanding situations on smaller jobs where the display is just a bulletin board inside the mobile trailer. Which does little good for people in an emergency situation especially if the trailer is locked up at the end of the day.
Accidents like fires and explosions can happen at any time and on site personnel working at all different places on the site need to be informed about evacuation gathering points and safety procedures. It's not supposed to be "well we had it on the wall in the trailer in the back room." Sadly sometimes it's not even that much of an effort for job site safety and proper legal information.
