In reply to the discussion: OMFG! Jake Tapper's book now claiming "The Biden's" hid Beau's diagnosis [View all]Tapper making a big deal about a delayed announcement of Beau's diagnosis. So what? That's called respect for privacy while fighting the worst battle of your life.
Tapper also quoted an "anonymous insider" stating that Biden's brain "turned to mush" after Beau's death. Did this "anonymous insider" ever lose a child? Does this "anonymous insider" think you just go on as if nothing happened? There is such a thing as "grief brain". Your brain doesn't "turn to mush", but it has to set aside an area for processing grief. Over time, the brain adapts and learns new ways of focusing while always having an area of the brain taken up by your grief.
As a parent who has lost a child, that comment about Biden's brain "turning to mush" infuriates me. It reminds me of judgments and "advice" given to me on how I should be grieving, how long I should be grieving, etc. ALWAYS told to me by those who haven't suffered a traumatic loss.
