Sure, some fruits and veggies are when they are out of season, but most staples are home grown. Very little meat that isn't gourmet or grain is imported. Dairy is not unless gourmet cheese.
In this case, it's the cost of labor, or lack thereof.
The tarrifs aren't the only causal item in the supply chain.

Seems like prices of soda in cans shot up after Trump ordered aluminum tariffs.

In our local meat veggie produce shop the majority of fresh items are imported.
