101. It's true Beto didn't win

If you look at the district and county maps in the state though, it’s getting worse. Harris performance in border communities was especially bad. Biden’s performance in those areas was also worse than Beto’s and Hillary’s.

Is this Biden’s fault necessarily? I’m not getting into that, but there was a steady decrease for democrats in those districts after Hillary in 2016. Beto’s looks like a high point. Those are key areas democrats will need to rebuild support if they plan on bring competitive in the state again. I think we need to admit that Biden’s border policies did not have support in those areas, and move from there.

Beto may or may not be the future of democratic politics. He may have peaked in 2018. But Biden is the past too, and the party is going to have to move forward.
