Democratic Primaries
In reply to the discussion: They're not giving up. The latest from (Sanders employee) Matt Orfalea: [View all]The Magistrate
(96,043 posts)You indicate above awareness the charge reported in the heading post, and frequently encountered elsewhere in various forums, is a lie. A lie reared up on a fragment of fact that is distorted out of all recognition. Liars ought to be named for what they are. Merely claiming the title of 'progressive' or 'leftist' does not make anyone immune from criticism, and certainly not from accurate description. This Orfalea fellow is a liar. A good many people echo the same lie, and do so in the name of supporting Sanders. Sanders keeps silent about the lies told in his name. He does nothing to rein them in. He does not say they are lies. What he does is lie back and reap the benefit of these energetic liars, who suggest he has at his disposal a great capacity to disrupt and harm the prospects of the Democratic Party and its nominee if he is not placated in some so far unspecified way. That is the truth of the matter, and every one who is not party to the lies told to advance Sanders' cause knows it.
Opposing these liars and naming them as liars is not making enemies of 'progressives'. It is recognizing there are a number of people who call themselves 'progressives' who have declared themselves to be the enemies of the Democratic Party, and would be content to see its nominee for President fail, and the country be delivered again into the hands of the cheap thug Trump and the gravedigger of the Senate, McConnell. They have their reasons for this desire, they imagine it will clear the way for some revolutionary advance of the 'progressive' cause. That is a false hope, which never will be realized, but the harm done in pursuit of it will be real enough. The only thing at question is how much harm these people will manage to inflict. It may not be sufficient to cause material harm to Mr. Biden's candidacy, but it could be. In either case, it is a harm and a risk it would be best to avoid, and if possible, to remove. Your aid in doing this, rather than in whitewashing it, is solicited.
"When things are not called by their right names, what is said cannot make sense. When what is said does not make sense, what is planned cannot succeed. When plans do not succeed, people become uneasy. When people are uneasy, punishments do not fit crimes. When punishments do not fit crimes, people cannot know where to put hand or foot."

primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
