paid pundits, MSM themes, etc., test messages like that with focus groups until the message is exactly right, then they write the scripts for their go-to politicians to speechify and woo the masses with, and they choose some damn good actors to recite the lines. The best actors, paid in the 10's of $millions$. After their politicians/actors win on those hopes and promises, they pull the plug on that bullshit and tell their politicians/tools what to do -- and what they tell their politicians/tools to do has nothing whatsoever to do with what those politicians/tools actually said in the phony "election".
You want a pony with that, or a magic wand? Wait in line, sucker.
They don't even bother to hide it anymore. They're getting the slate ready to do the same thing in '16, and even the people who hold their noses to vote will be wondering why the fuck they're still playing along with the game.
I've heard people say they've become "cynical", it's gotten so bad. But the people banging their heads against the wall in frustration at the massive betrayal haven't become cynical, they were *burned* over and over again and they've become skeptical, they've become disbelievers in politicians with their pretty words, their tweedledum/tweedledee political parties -- it's the politicians/actors who are the cynics. It's their go-to pundits.
It isn't about words, not even if the words are set to music, not even if there's a video of it with a happy bounding dog and several cute kittens posing in artless disarray to give it the total feel-good backdrop.
It's about doing, walking the walk.
Elizabeth Warren is the best hope I can see, at the present time, for taking a sledge hammer and punching a hole in the wall.
I just hope and pray for her safety.
