Travel insurance for elders coming to the US from overseas [View all]

Dear all:

I need some advice on travel healthcare insurance for a relative in her 70s who may be coming to stay with us for several months in our home in CA. She is not a US citizen or a permanent resident. She's coming over on a tourist visa.

From what I can see, the greatest amount of travel healthcare insurance we can get has a policy limit of $100,000. While our relative is healthy (and vaccinated), I am still concerned that this level of healthcare insurance is not enough if she gets ill here, given how ridiculously expensive healthcare can be here.

Does anyone have any experience on travel healthcare insurance or alternatives in this kind of situation?

Thank you!
MH
