These guys aren't exhibiting any frontal lobe* functioning, and can be very dangerous as group if they think the public can't see what they do to a solitary woman. And I think you know where I am going with this.

In my limited, but very upclose experience of challenging mental and developmental behaviors, the giggling response has appearing to act as a neural malfunction and a pre-cursor to their most violent behavior.
Of course, most people are not anti-social or dangerous when hit with a fit of giggles. But some do and it is very disturbing to watch. They lose all inhibition and do things out of character that they don't remember.
As for this pack of laughing hyenas, this was what media taught them. The words used are more than a little pornographic and they were eager to tear her down and degrade her, proud of what they were doing and had no intention of stopping despite her protests and question. In their opinion, she was there to be abused by them, nothing more. She was a sex doll.
Imagine a wild animal, sniffing at your flesh, sizing you up for the kill. Just the way these guys did with her. The threat is just below the surface.
They were taught that predatory acts are just fun and cool. I've seen this kind of gleeful behavior in humans killing animals, and animals killing each other.
I don't see much difference here.
