Those boys should learn that thinking you are nice is not the same as being nice and it's not the same as being regarded as nice.

And here are two further pearls of wisdom:

1. This is from a toon: "You don't have to be the best boyfriend in the world. You just have to be better than her last boyfriend."

2. And this is from a female comedian: "So you are willing to be nice and shut up and listen to her? I'll tell you what: There's a guy out there who's willing to do that AND he can play guitar!"
