Remember the Sower and the seeds. Four surfaces, only one of which "took" and allowed spiritual nature to thrive. If we give each surface/soul equal weight, Jesus knew that about 75% of souls would reject or misconstrue spiritual growth. So, Jesus isn't surprised. But it's sad that the church is lending its aegis to the 75%.
