In the industry from which I retired, I've seen 50HP agitator motors that look about twice the size of a 7HP lawnmower engine.
Also, from a racing perspective, the motors can be made longer, but lower in diameter, meaning they can be mounted lower.
When added to replacement weight at axle height, the center of mass falls below the geometric center plane, making the car both more powerful & stable.
If they can figure out how to go 500 miles at 200mph, the ICE cars wouldn't stand a chance.
