Doesn't really feel like Star Trek to me. But I will never be able to watch it due to economic limitations (streaming is outside my budget), so my opinion doesn't matter.

Watching from the outside, I have observed the increasing commodification of Star Wars and it troubled me because Star Wars represented great storytelling and the continuation of epic mythology. On the other hand, it didn't trouble me as much because-- as I have said very often-- Star Wars changed entertainment; Star Trek changed the world.

Pull out the cliched Boomer insult, but I see Star Trek being commodified in the same way as its "rival" Sci-F- franchise.
