Appetizer
A dozen escargot (6 apiece) in butter with garlic and bread crusts. I bought the snails online from Amazon and they’re delicious. They come in a resealable can and will last a couple of weeks in the refrigerator.

Entree
The Delmonico steaks were on sale and we're pan-frying them in olive oil, garlic, rosemary and thyme. The steaks have been meticulously seasoned with sea salt and freshly ground black pepper. If we do it right, we’ll get a nice crust on the meat by basting it in the juices.

Amazingly, the Landlady got the herbs from her outdoor plants! They’re still alive!

We’re roasting red potatoes and they’ll be served with butter and sour cream.

After, we have a red leaf salad with carrots, red onion, sliced olives and cherry tomato halves.

Dessert
Sliced fresh pineapple cubes drenched in brandy.

NJCher, your tuna sounds delicious! I also agree with you that when you dig into your pantry, you’ll often be surprised!
