(14,605 posts)when I was still young and spent two weeks in the CCU going through more tests and poking and prodding than I care to remember. When I was diagnosed, my EF was 8 and they put me on the transplant list.
Fast forward a couple years and my heart had returned to normal, no signs of scarring, no cardiomyopathy, and an EF of 60, and I haven't decompensated in all those years, Cases like mine are rare, but there's still a possibility.
One thing I insisted on was getting to target doses of my CHF meds -- Coreg (carvedilol), lisinopril, and something else I can't remember -- as quickly as possible. Like every time I saw my Dr,, I asked him to increase my dosage. It meant I was terribly tired for a few months, but I wanted to be as aggressive as possible in dealing with it.
Keep fighting. It'll be exhausting and your limitations will be angering, but stay stubborn.
