the second opinion and more [View all]
Thursday was our meeting at Moffit with Dr. Mofalo and after review, he just said they would have done things differently there. They would have done the surgery first and then followed up with chemo. As we did not have a second ECPT to show him, he told us we could start by doing blood work and then an MRI right then. My wife had to go back to work that day so we took the paperwork home and waited until Friday to do anything with it.
Now for the good part.
After the ECPT procedure on Friday, the gastroent doctor came in and said, "I have good news. Dr. Rosemurgy, with the Life Hope Center will have a much easier time removing this tumor than originally thought" For some reason, and we don't know how, the cancer is no longer in the crotch of her bileary duct but lower, in the tube. The imaging showed no expansion to the upper ducts which is way weird due to it showing there originally. I am walking on sunshine at this point.
We overnighted the imaging disc to Moffit and Rosemurgy today. We should be hearing from them after review Monday after 4 pm.
I cannot believe the relief I'm feeling.
The tumor still needs to be removed but as we hear it's always a matter of location, location , location. It's still a very risky operation but the odds in our favor just went up 10%.
Thanks to everyone for the positivity and kind words. I do not have enough words to tell you how much they are appreciated.
