I think the presence of Faux News, and the media and internet in general, has increased the access for lunatics who gain viewers, and put crazy things in their heads.

Given that, I think it's closer to 1/3rd, or 33%. Add in the wealthy who are just in it for money and tax cuts, and you get to Drumpf's true base of around 38%.
