given that some 63 million Americans are on Social Security, and given that not all of those dying are on it, thinking that anyone is letting this going on so that SS will be saved, is not understanding the numbers.

Of course, it's possible that this will go on for years, no vaccine, no effective treatment, and millions will die, thereby making Social Security's financial future quite rosy.
