10. If you have a convection oven, its basically the same thing.

It is more hot air movement than frying, so if you like things like baked fries instead of deep fried fries, then they are convenient and easy to clean but not terribly different than a range. HOWEVER...they are smaller, use less energy and don't heat the kitchen/house as much as an oven range can...

They are useful and I like ours, just not a wonder machine like I see some ads claim, more like a solid 7 out of 10 overall.
