heirs, and rich immigrants. No, that is not an anti-immigration comment. Some wealthy foreigners don't care if they lose some money on a real estate transaction here. They have, at the very least, a foothold in a place that might be far more palatable for habitation in the long term, and they have got at least a substantial amount of money out of where they are and into a market they want to be in.

I can't really buy into the idea that Eastern Canada is anywhere near as good a place to live as SW BC, and partly justify the prices there, but this corner of the world has, at the very least, some aspects that really recommend it, and can be an absolutely awesome place to live. So there's that.
