1. Mauna Kea conflict

One approach I have not heard is to let Native Hawaiian people decide what to do. There is so much distrust of the government and the UH administration, why not let OHA (office of Hawaiian affairs) be the primary caretaker of the Mauna?

I look at Mauna Kea every day, from the Hilo side, and the existing telescopes are a constant reminder that science is already there. Where we go from here should be the kuleana of the Hawaiian people.
