hurricane update - not much going on yet in most areas

overnight in a small geographical area near Hilo 10 -20 inches of rain fell. most places tho just scattered light to moderate rain if any. typical trade winds. waikiki surf is typical of up to 5 - 6 feet in some areas but on the rise.

weather service clinging to its forecast of a near pass to some islands but a direct hit unlikely.
serious storm action coming later this evening and overnight into tomorrow.

no way to post pics on DU so just text. btw going for my usual half mile ocean swim in a bit. conditions are not bad at all for that.
