local south Jersey farmers to grow spinach. That was processed into the first major frozen food product. That process disappeared in the '70's. Traditional farming is now relegated to people growing corn and soy so's to get the farm tax benefit from their land.

The newest garden is hydroponic marijuana. I don't know how successful that is. When pot became legal, there were lines to get in the shops. Such is no longer the case.


ANYWAY, "The Garden State" is a motto that represents a status that disappeared decades ago.
