Why do the Republicans you elected distrust you? [View all]

On the Friday of Memorial Day weekend, about an hour before midnight, the Republicans who control the Arizona Legislature spat in the faces of the people who put them in office.

They passed on a party-line vote SB 1451, a bill designed to make it even more difficult for regular citizens to get an issue on the ballot.

It’s part of an ongoing effort to erode citizen participation in our democracy. And it’s the strangest thing.

And it didn’t go unnoticed, as Democratic Rep. Kelli Butler tweeted:
