Gift ideas for a crocheter?

7. Speaking as a crocheter,

hooks are not a good idea, because the friend either has all the hooks she needs, or her preferences are very specific to her, so to buy her hooks, while thoughtful, isn't a very good idea.

Yarn could be nice, but it's a total shot in the dark as to what kind of yarn or how much. Do you know very much about the kinds of projects she makes?

A nice crochet hook holder/organizer sounds very nice. Perhaps a book on crochet patterns, or yarn could be good. If you kind find out what yarn store or stores she prefers, a gift certificate to one, while it feels impersonal to you, would be wildly appreciated. Trust me.
