67. I'm right there with you, ReRe...

One of the things this administration has done is make me glad my father isn't around to see what has happened to his country. An Army Medic in WWII, nazis and fascism and what he'd seen done in their names affected him all his life. I miss him like hell, and long for the long conversations we used to have; but I am SO glad he's not here to see how one party just turned this country over to all those he fought against. What makes it particularly heartbreaking, is he was a registered Republican. The old style Republican, but still... even when I pointed out how much of what he said was current democratic party policies, he just couldn't get past the racism of the old, old style democrats. He just couldn't trust such drastic changes would last.
