Apparently Mango Mussolini is having the "dirt" construction waste from the demolition of the East Wing dumped onto East Potomac Golf Course which is part of East Potomac Park, a part of the National Capital Park system, a federal park managed by NPS. It has a huge host of facilities that are free and open to the public.
About three miles away at East Potomac Golf Links, a fresh pile of dirt appeared near the course's ninth fairway this week. Regular golfers at the course say it's a new sight.
"This is definitely new to say the least," said Blake Stanton of Arlington, who has played the course for about five years.
"Since I played last week, there's a construction site in the middle here," said fellow golfer Jake Fleischer. "It kind of butts up to the 9th fairway here. I have no clue. They didn't mention it when we made our reservation, but something's going on."
They are supposedly going to use
some of the "dirt" to make hills and such but this golf course part of a national park and you cannot just make changes to it on a whim. There is a process.
Dumping construction waste on a national park is absolutely insane but expected, I guess, from this lot.
