Some pieces could have been sold to dealers who specialize in salvage or for history. The profits donated to a neutral charity. An old dairy barn near me was demolished last year to reduce property taxes. The beams and planks were worth a small fortune. I used salvaged doors, windows and light fixtures when I built. Better and cheaper than new and they have some character.
