In reply to the discussion: Democrats Need A PR Firm - They Have No Unified Message [View all]Ping Tung
(2,613 posts)51. What they need is to stop playing Trumps game of appealing to the Republican Dark Side.
The Democrats have principles like Equality, Fairness, Freedom, Compassion, Peace, etc, that they should be advertising instead of the like-warm Centrist drivel of politics-as-usual.
Tell them , and us, what they actually stand for. Let the MAGAS do the shouting and spitting and hating. Be the adults in the fight with the spoiled brats and full of fear idiots. searching for a strong daddy figure to save them from the non-existent bogey man that Trump threatens them with.
The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary. H.L. Mencken

If "leaders" can't get this basic message out (sent by Bernie) then ... I just don't know.

We darn sure need something. Unfortunately, even if we get rid of the $470 B a year from tax cuts to wealthy,

Dem leaders should be able to own the news cycle calling out the GOP bill, but here we are.
