Manipulation of "news" has been around since before Guttenberg and will continue as long as humans are alive.

Everybody wants their point of view to be hailed as truth and the other guy to be scorned as a lie...It happened during the thrid reich and it happened in China and the Soviet union.

It's called human nature.
