12. My nephew, who is stationed in Kyiv, is suddenly visiting my brother in Washington.

It was his birthday, so that’s a convenient reason, but he usually stops off in Germany to see us when he comes west. Not even a peep this time. I hope we find out why. My brother still maintains a level of security clearance that I’ll never have, so maybe we don’t get to find out.
