31. These people have ALWAYS existed

They are narcissistic, dark triad personalities, extreme extroverts who need the stimulus of status, wealth, power, in order to feel significant. They see themselves as predators in a dangerous world, usually have very little empathy for anyone. They are mentally lazy, and thinking is, literally, very difficult for them - they usually lack the flexibility of mind to deal with adaptation, and consequently want to have a great deal of control over others so they don't have to change. They are also fundamentally angry because they need testosterone and adrenaline in order to feel stimulated, and as they get older, that wanes, and consequently they are either angry or depressed. This is primarily true of men, though I think that women are influenced by this imbalance as well, but they are also influenced by financial insecurity. Not surprisingly, birth control shifted the equation dramatically there, and it is one of the reasons that anything that gives women autonomy is considered anathema among the MAGAts, especially among the Religious Right.
