I was doing my own procurement for NASA for many years for my own research program. I got the plastic as part of the program. This saved me tons of time doing GSA procurement forms and waiting for parts to arrive ( months ) and saved tons of money. Of course there was responsibility to not "go nuts" or spend on non-approved items. I was very careful what I purchased with YOUR taxpayer dollars.

DOGE just ended this practice.

so much for "efficiency" in government.
