they lied. turns out, they were lying the whole time.

i think this statement, or something like it, is key to peeling off at least a decent chunk of republican party supporters.

i know we've called donnie himself a liar, but i think if this became a "viral meme", if we constantly used it, if we put it on billboards in red counties, etc., it would eventually work.

importantly, it drives a wedge between republican leaders and the ordinary voters who lean their way. it turns the resentment and indignation republicans have long exploited to our advantage. it allows them to abandon donnie in a face-saving way -- they don't have to admit that *they* were wrong, they don't have to change their opinion on any fact or issue, they don't have to agree with democrats on anything in particular -- they just have to be angry that donnie and republican leaders lied to them.

about anything. the budget, the tax "cut", the price of eggs, whatever. how does openly soliciting personal bribes make america great?

where we can easily see how they are doing the tricks.

But those who vote republican are the targets, and all they hear is how wonderful Donnie is. We have to break through so eventually they may say, hmm, maybe they *are* lying...

I still can't figure out why he became president, why more people couldn't see through him and his lies and how he was using them.

The right wing propaganda machine is full of people who are in complete agreement that they are right and good, democrats are wrong and evil, Donnie is the greatest ever, and anyone who disagrees is unpatriotic and American.

We understand it's all a coordinated lie, but they hear it from multiple sources who are seen utterly convinced they are all right, so of course people fall for it.

It's hard to believe that could all be a massive lie... unless you start hearing, repeatedly, that they are lying and they were lying the whole time.

Trump acted indignant that other countries were “ripping us off” but that's part of his horse-whisperer act. Of course, we pay them.
