House Speaker Mike Johnson says Medicaid cuts in Trump bill have a "moral component" - Face the Nation

Speaker Mike Johnson, who oversaw the passage of Trump's "big, beautiful bill" in the House, insisted to "Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan" that projections that nearly 200,000 people in his home state of Louisiana will lose Medicaid under the bill are actually targeting "waste, fraud and abuse." "There's a moral component to what we're doing," he said. - Aired on 05/25/2025.

The talk about waste, fraud, and abuse, the make cuts that affect everyone, mostly people who are using the programs honestly and as intended.

And they also cut funds for enforcement, actually creating more waste, fraud, and abuse.

Their idea of "moral" is the idea that those who can't work shouldn't eat. Not quite the morality that Jesus taught.
