1. Was fun to watch

but a masterpiece of a hot mess…music was great and I enjoyed seeing Buddy Guy, a lifelong blues favorite of mine.

5. Ick

I just started streaming it and ended up stopping. I'm far from a prude, but I take issue with films that use dialogue/slang that's inappropriate for the time. It takes place in the 1930s. People didn't talk openly about sex at that time, and they certainly didn't discuss oral sex. It was just ick, and had NOTHING to do with the story.

My great aunt talked freely about her adventures in Hollywood of the 'twenties and 'thirties.

The slang wasn't quite the same, but it was just as explicit.

She'd also talk about some of the erotic art she'd seen in her travels.

Living by the Hays Code was not her thing.

6. I quit half way through

Really didn't care for it.

7. I thought it was a terrific drive-in movie that I enjoyed watching.

In other words, it’s an elevated B movie that critics have overpraised to high heaven like it’s on the same level of Citizen Kane or The Godfather.

It felt like a good movie for the money, since it appeared on my streaming service. So glad I didn't see it in a theatre, I would have felt ripped off.
