(32,761 posts)I was told that we needed to pass the CR to save Social Security, when the exact opposite happened. Passing the CR gave Congressional powers to Musk/Krasnov.

(11,217 posts)hacking. Two Cobol courses were required when I started back to school for computer science in 88. We all hated it, but it was the first language I learned because they were required. Anyway, I rather enjoyed the idea that those old systems are too much for today's hackers!
Thanks for that link.

If you read my long history post, it indicated that Social Security was written in COBOL (at least some parts)
Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
