I attended the funeral today of a successful local restauranteur in our little beach town.

In the eulogy, his son described him as a liberal Jew from Chicago, who started an Italian restaurant on a Texas island 45 years ago. He was a wonderful man, with a wonderful family, as evidenced by the standing room crowd only in the church. A sizable portion being his former employees. He passed away at 84.

In addition to being impressed with the son's eulogy of his father, I was equally impressed with our Episcopal Rector who led the proceeding, as there is no Synagogue in our very small community

He first chanted Sh'ma Yisroel in Hebrew.
Then we praised Adonai.
Then said Psalm 23
Then Psalm 103 was read
Then Ecclesiastics 3:1-8...was read - A time for everything...
Song: Micah 6:8
Procession out: Psalm 121
