Merlin (grumble, grumble) always drops out while recording

I was hoping for a solution before GBBC.
It doesn't seem to be able to record for more than a few seconds, and doesn't even register that it is hearing a bird.
Any of you folks who know of solutions; thank you.
Btw I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times w/0 success.

Make sure your Bluetooth is off. If that doesn't work, contact them... Enter stage left Monday #1

continues to work when you are offline (no phone signal). I haven't had to do this, but I'll probably do it now.
