I am a bit pissed, though, because we once again couldn’t watch the game despite having MLB… It sucks when FUX gets to broadcast because their audio is shit and typically broadcasts entire games with the volume cycling from inaudible to blaring, as though a child is allowed in the booth and nobody’s watching them. They also seem incapable of tweaking the cameras to give us a clear picture (I know there was fog last night, but they made zero effort to combat the lighting and everything was washed out even before the fog became a real issue). Then they’ve got to let AppleTV have some games, Peacock (today), as well as blacking out any games they consider in your market (“Florida” is NOT enabling those of us four hours away from a stadium to pay for the privilege of seeing them live!)

I realize the old farts on radio are a legacy, but I hate them. Zero excitement or personality.

How does baseball remain “America’s pastime” when no one can afford to attend the games, an MLB subscription gives you bare basics (I get no preseason or post season games unless I want to cough up an exta $145) and you have to pay for all these other fkg channels just to see the missing games? I ditched satellite over a decade ago so any network games are a no as well.

Yes, I’m feeling pissy about this. Today on top of last night’s debacle rubbed my fur the wrong way.

But yay—at least we’re on the right side of the scoreboard today!

ESPN used to have baseball games on all day on Opening Day and every Sunday night at 7:00. WGN used to broadcast every Cubs game every single day and because it was a superstation, I could watch them all here in Michigan. TBS had all the Braves games. Now we're lucky to get a local station playing the home team's games. In the Detroit area, they change the station every year and don't even let you know what channel the Tigers are going to be on until Opening Day, so you have to go through the guide to find it that day and not a minute before.

It seems like most of the games are now on streaming channels or are in packages you have to buy. I listen to the Cubs on Sirius XM these days since they're hardly ever on TV anymore, at least not on any channel that I get.

We didn’t get swept and Cubs pitching was spot on. How about Dansby’s lay out catch to end the game??

Go Cubs Go!!
