and all is broken the heart the body the mind the soul
there is no chance for repair no chance for a renewal
everything fallen apart bits of debris are still and cold
surround silence and despair dead moments accrual
broken glass scattered shards litter the empty space
cutting and puncturing piercing thoughts now arising
linger long over dealt cards wonder at the king’s face
to make the weak enfiercing the strong left disguising
bones break crush or crumble under the force of life
suffer silent hold in the cries to labor into the screams
bodies trip stop and stumble due to the stress of strife
as a dark dying shadow flies over the realm of dreams
a second collects agony clings to each wavering breath
clocks wind down an angel sings for a release of death
