Separation of Church and Hate by John Fugelsang

A friend loaned this to my wife, I think I will read it as well.

The cover says:

A same person's guide to taking back the Bible from fundamentalists, fascists, and flock-fleecing frauds

Which is read by the author. But I think I would prefer a printed copy, since I kept wishing I could fill it with bookmarks, sticky notes, etc.

The book corrects references from the Bible used by "Christian Nationalists" and Evangelicals to to support ideas that are the inverse of sayings attributed to teachings in the four Gospels.

And I suppose you can insert your own interpretation of the implication of that phrase. Does it offend you?

Are religious people insane? No, I don’t think he is saying that. I might say something like that, though.

Are religious people who selectively use the Bible or twist its messages to their own advantage insane? Maybe. Or maybe they’re evil.

I frankly hadn’t given it much thought until I read your reply.

And, yeah, I don’t get the point. How about explaining it to me in more than one or two words?

Or not.
