Of course they're stupid, the people who came up with the bright idea to levy them on our allies and even our less friendly trading partners are stupid across the board, just like their tariffs are.

I said from the beginning that these idiotic tariffs might spur the rest of the world to discover they can get along perfectly well without us. That process seems to be starting.
