Newport, RI - rally in support of Social Secuirty, TUESDAY MAY 27

We will rally on TUESDAY MAY 27, 2025, 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM
to show support for SOCIAL SECURITY and their staff.

130 Bellevue Ave, Newport, RI

Please stay on the sidewalks, and respect all private property. The plaza where the SSA office is located is private property.

We will bring extra signs. There is a lot going on with Social Security right now. I hope our presence and our signs bring visibility to the issues.

We object to the many disruptions at the Social Security Administration, due to Musk and DOGE. DOGE is under a court order restricting them from accessing our most sensitive personal data at Social Security. This case is now before the Supreme Court. When there is a ruling, I will let you know the result.

Meanwhile, Senator Sheldon Whitehouse has called for an IT forensic audit to track what DOGE has done while invading the SSA systems and our data.

Is anybody getting emails from Social Security that may or may not be legit? Let me know. I am trying to figure out what is going on with communications from SSA.

The Tuesday rallies in support of Social Security are now pinned on the Indivisible/mobilize.us map and calendar.

Some of you may wish to come at 3:30 and leave earlier, while others can join us later and stay until 5:30.

You can follow these and other rallies/protests in RI at Accidental Activist, Rhode Island, on Facebook.
