OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Speaking from the podium at Mayor Jean Stotherts campaign party on Tuesday night, Gov. Jim Pillen told Republicans that they just didnt get the vote out.
He said Stotherts re-election should have been a slam-dunk.
Elections matter. Leadership matters. Conservative leadership matters, he said. I hope that all of us can take a bite into that apple and make sure we dont forget, and make sure that we play a role.

(8,400 posts)Another story quoted Douglas County Election commissioner estimating a 30% turnout.
But I have not seen the actual turnout %.
There was one other factor: In 3 districts the incumbents were unopposed. So a bunch of voters did not show up; Why bother?
Which leads me to one of my peeves: Voter fatigue.
There are just too many elections; certainly in my state of Virginia, and, apparently Nebraska, so voters are tired of going to the polls.
Note: The D candidate won by a WHOPPING 12.6 percent!!!
With a win like that, I think turnout was not the only problem.

They have shown their true face for all to see.
